ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS CITY OF LAKE ELMO NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by Adam Swanepoel, Assistant Public Works Director, 3880 Laverne Ave., Lake Elmo Minnesota 55042, until 12:30 p.m., March 23, 2023 <br />for the removal and installation of new tennis and pickle ball courts in Tablyn and Pebble Park. <br />Those interested in bidding must contact Adam Swanepoel at: (651) 747-3946 to obtain the bidding documents, consisting of: Bid Specifications/Instructions, Responsible Contractor Certificate and the Bid Form. <br /> No bid will be considered unless it is securely sealed in an envelope, labeled with the name of the <br />bidder, its address and the statement “Tablyn and Pebble Park Project,” and received by Adam Swanepoel prior to the time noted above for the closing of bids. Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent of the amount of the bid, which <br />shall be forfeited to the City in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract, provide the <br />required insurance or to furnish performance or payment bonds. The bid security shall be a bid bond issued by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Minnesota and acceptable to the City, or a certified check or cashier’s check from a federally insured bank, payable to “City of Lake Elmo.” <br /> Any prime contractor or subcontractor that does not meet the minimum criteria established for a <br />“responsible contractor” as defined in Minnesota Statutes Section 16C.285, subdivision 3 or fails to verify that it meets those criteria is not a responsible contractor and is not eligible to be awarded a contract for the project or to perform work on the project. A false statement under oath verifying compliance with any of the minimum criteria shall make the prime contractor or subcontractor that makes the false statement <br />ineligible to be awarded the project and may result in termination of the contract awarded to a prime <br />contractor or subcontractor that submits a false statement. A prime contractor shall submit to the City, upon request, copies of the signed verifications of compliance from all subcontractors. If awarded the contract, the bidder will be required to execute and deliver payment and performance <br />bonds, each for an amount no less than the total estimated amount of the contract and evidence of all <br />required insurance. The bidder will also be required to enter into a contract with the City. The required terms of the contract are set forth in the Bid Specifications/Instructions. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities and informalities <br />therein and to award the contract to other than the lowest bidder if, in its discretion, the interests of the City <br />would be best served thereby. The bids will be opened and read aloud at the Lake Elmo City Hall on March 31st, 2023 at 1:00 P.M.
