STAFF REPORT <br />DATE: January 2, 2024 <br /> CONSENT <br /> <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Karissa Goers, Administrative Services Director <br />AGENDA ITEM: Telework and AI Policy <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Currently, the City of Lake Elmo has no telework or artificial intelligence usage policy. ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: Should the attached policies be approved as presented? DISSCUSSION: These policies were discussed at the 12/12/23 city council workshop. Updates to the telework policy and telework agreement have been made based on feedback from that meeting. The updates are redlined in the attached documents and are as follows: -Adding an emergency/short term telework option -Requesting a photo of the home workspace as part of the approval process -Updating the Conditions of Employment section to include information about worker’s compensation, federal and state tax implications, and personal home insurance policy requirements. -Removing the requirement for remote workers to work during an emergency closing. -Added clarifying language about teleworking outside of MN and WI. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: None <br /> OPTIONS: 1. Approved attached policies as presented <br />2. Update and approve attached policies 3.
