STAFF REPORT <br />DATE: 2/6/2024 <br />CONSENT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Marty Powers, Public Works Director <br />AGENDA ITEM: Pickup Purchase <br />REVIEWED BY: Clarissa Hadler, Finance Director <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The City of Lake Elmo Public Works Department utilizes a 2014 Ford F250 <br />throughout the city to assist with projects related to parks, water, sewer, storm water and streets. The <br />existing 2014 F250 is in service and has met its council approved 10-year replacement schedule. <br />Replacing the 2014 F250 with the proposed 2024 F250 with service/utility body will be more user <br />friendly & efficient for the tasks it will be completing. <br />ISSUE BEFORE CITY COUNCIL: Should the Council approve the purchase of a 2024 Ford <br />F250 pickup truck with service body as outlined in the Capital Improvement Plan? PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: Proceeding with this purchase will benefit the city and its citizens <br />by replacing an aged vehicle. This vehicle will allow staff more organized tool storage, reliability and efficiency. FISCAL IMPACT: Purchase of this vehicle outfitted with service body, warning lights, decals and assortment of small tools will exceed the budgeted $60,000 due to increasing truck chassis prices and will be funded through the vehicle replacement fund as identified in the proposed 2024 CIP. OPTIONS: 1) Approve purchase of the Ford F250 and service body as outlined 2) Amend and approve purchase of F250 3) Do not approve purchase RECOMMENDATION: If removed from the consent agenda: <br />“Motion to approve the purchase of a Ford F250 Pickup Truck and service body as outlined at a cost <br />not to exceed $67,000.” ATTACHMENTS: <br />• Ford F250 quote (Midway Ford state contract pricing) <br />• Crysteel Truck & Equipment (Service body state contract pricing) <br />• EATI (Warning lights quote) <br />• Decals and Small tools
