City Council Meeting
February 6, 2024 Page 10

LA515\137\930284.v1
RECOMMENDATION: Staff suggest approval based on compliance with existing City Standards. Options for motions are provided below. Should the City Council seek to modify the findings or conditions, those
should be clearly stated and part of the motion. Should the City Council determine that it would
like to deny the Preliminary Plat, staff suggest that the City Council articulate findings and direct staff to produce a resolution for denial at the next City Council meeting.
Planning Commission Review and Public Hearing The City’s Planning Commission reviewed staff’s report, held a public hearing, and discussed this item at their regular meeting on October 23, 2023. No public comments were received either
before the meeting or at the public hearing. The Planning Commission asked questions to
identify the requirements for the site, understand the development process for this project, including the requested comprehensive plan amendment and rezoning request, and heard from the project’s representative.
After a discussion on the project, the Planning Commission found that the project was consistent with the criteria for approval of the requests and unanimously recommended all four requests to the City Council for approval. EXAMPLE MOTIONS:
APPROVAL “Move to adopt Resolution 2024-007 approving the Preliminary Plat for Bridgewater Village with the findings and conditions therein.”
DENIAL

“Move to direct staff to prepare a resolution for denial based on the findings discussed by the City Council.” ATTACHMENTS: 1.
