STAFF REPORT <br />DATE: 2/20/24 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Lake Elmo City Council <br />FROM: Nathan Fuerst, AICP, Consulting Planner <br />AGENDA ITEM: Lake Elmo Townhomes 8, Preliminary Plat and Planned Unit <br />Development (PUD) <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />At Home Apartments LLC is requesting Preliminary Plat and Planned Unit Development (PUD) <br />approval for a 48-unit rental townhome development on approximately 7.6 acres of land located <br />on the east and west sides of Wildflower Lane, north of 39th St. N. The development, called <br />Lake Elmo Townhomes 8, is proposed as a PUD because the developer is requesting flexibility <br />from the VMX zoning regulations primarily to allow multiple buildings on one lot. <br /> <br />This project was first reviewed by the Planning Commission on December 11, 2023 where the <br />item was tabled for further consideration.
