Lake Elmo Parks System Plan
52 / 79
Q21 What is your biggest concern about Lake Elmo’s parks?
Answered: 323 Skipped: 230
#RESPONSES DATE
1 Space to continue supporting organized sports in area - it is such a positive aspect for youth in
our community.
1/24/2024 8:12 PM
2 Fewer winter activities for kids and adults 1/22/2024 8:09 PM
3 Not enough game playable baseball fields 1/22/2024 4:44 PM
4 Maintaining natural habitat/wildlife.1/20/2024 9:33 AM
5 We have a very poor trail system (either bike and/or walk) in Lake Elmo, compared to other
nearby cities. Sadly, this includes Woodbury which has an excellent system of trails/walking
paths that connect their parks and neighborhoods. We used to say in Lake Elmo that we didn't
want to become another Woodbury, but in this respect they've been far more forward looking
than us.
1/20/2024 7:15 AM
6 Need more baseball fields so kids in the Lake Elmo community can play Playgrounds in closer
proximity to the fields Safe paths for kids to bike around community to and from the parks
1/19/2024 11:22 PM
7 Older parks playgrounds are old worn and outdated.1/19/2024 12:04 AM
8 Not enough baseball/softball space.1/18/2024 11:45 AM
9 Most are so small and boring, really just geared toward kids.1/18/2024 9:41 AM
10 We need more us eable baseball fields and parking (complex with concessions would be ideal).
The VFW field is long overdue to be upgraded, and additional fields would definitely be
appreciated!
1/17/2024 1:30 PM
11 The city should maintain trails in all neighborhoods. It should not be the individual
neighborhoods to do that. There is plenty of taxpayer dollars to support this.
1/16/2024 4:45 PM
12 maintenance done on a ti mely basis 1/15/2024 8:04 PM
13 Nothing 1/15/2024 5:29 PM
14 Not enough baseball fields 1/15/2024 12:56 PM
15 Conserving open space parks and baseball fields as housing developments continue to build 1/15/2024 7:27 AM
16 There are not enough baseball fields to support the teams in the area.1/14/2024 9:09 PM
17 There is high demand for pickleball courts. It would be great to have more of them. New are
being built , but the old at Lion's Park is in great need of repair.
1/14/2024 4:23 PM
18 Not well cared for. Old equipment.1/14/2024 3:56 PM
19 More natural habitat 1/14/2024 2:24 PM
20 Safety- too many teens loitering, play structures are old and falling apart. No sidewalks in tri
lakes area to get to any of the parks.
1/13/2024 5:02 PM
21 Slow development for a growing community 1/13/2024 2:59 PM
22 The maintenance and upkeep of the park is lacking. The availability of fields in groomed
conditions is limited. when visiting teams come to our fields we should have pride that we play
for Lake Elmo instead it’s embarrassing when people come to our fields that are in disrepair
with grass growing on the baseball diamond in the infield where nice dirt should be. At some
point this is going to create an area of safety, as the children will not be able to field ball safely
as the condition of the fields are not well-maintained. Player safety on a baseball field is
paramount. When a field is in disrepair, it poses significant risks such as uneven surfaces that
can lead to trips or falls, divots that can cause ankle injuries, or irregularities that affect
1/13/2024 1:57 PM
168
