Lake Elmo Parks System Plan
59 / 79
211 Hard to access by foot 12/12/2023 5:03 PM
212 There is a need for a handicap-accessible playground, more trail interconnection, and for a
splash pad
12/11/2023 3:45 PM
213 Continued maintenance and upkeep. Parks should be a priority to the city.12/11/2023 2:14 PM
214 Having trails to get there 12/10/2023 2:48 PM
215 Old broken playgrounds 12/9/2023 9:32 PM
216 More old/large trees. Stop tearing down all the beautiful trees every time development occur s. 12/9/2023 11:43 AM
217 Too much urban development 12/9/2023 8:22 AM
218 People with dogs off leash.12/9/2023 7:49 AM
219 That they will get developed and gone.12/9/2023 7:11 AM
220 Lack of walkable or bicycle access.12/9/2023 12:04 AM
221 Playgrounds are outdated. I would also love connected walking or biking trails (similar to
Woodbury’s that go around the lakes) that travel from the parks to our city cent er to connect all
the neighborhoods.
12/8/2023 7:01 PM
222 Sunfish Lake Park has such a wonderful multi-use trails. I worry about the safety of bikers who
get on the single-track trails without helmets or other proper gear and without knowing what
they're getting into, with some of the high-risk features. Additional signage about the risks, the
importance of helmets, care at intersections with walking trails, and adhering to the trail signs
could be really helpful.
12/8/2023 6:44 PM
223 Keep parks clean and nature, less development.12/8/2023 6:38 PM
224 Lack of variety 12/8/2023 6:02 PM
225 Not enough basketball courts near southern edge of Lake Elmo, have to go to Woodbury for
basketball.
12/8/2023 5:38 PM
226 Not connecting trails. Especially in winter.12/8/2023 4:16 PM
227 Outdated playgrounds. Especially th e Lions Park downtown playground. It is unsafe for young
kids
12/8/2023 3:29 PM
228 Upkeep...we have the MOST parks per capita and most are not well taken care of. If you are
putting more parks in then you must put a plan in place to maintain them. Most have broken
equipment or are unkept
12/8/2023 3:03 PM
229 Old equipment 12/8/2023 2:48 PM
230 Biking trails to get to the parks 12/8/2023 2:39 PM
231 No easy to walk or bike to 12/8/2023 2:37 PM
232 Need more infrastructure 12/8/2023 2:31 PM
233 Vandalism 12/8/2023 2:31 PM
234 Narrow trails.12/8/2023 2:31 PM
235 While playgrounds are wonderful for the young kids, finding things for the older kids and adults
is key. Diversification of equipment is key too. Don't make all the parks a carbon copy of one
another. Biking at one, basketball at another, etc
12/8/2023 2:28 PM
2 36 Lack of nice baseball fields 12/8/2023 2:25 PM
237 Not enough parking at sunfish 12/8/2023 2:23 PM
238 Not consistently maintained (mowing, branches over trails), lack of safe bike access to parks,
outdated play equipment or facilities
12/8/2023 2:20 PM
239 Getting there. Trails that connect 12/8/2023 2:08 PM
240 Would like more picnic tables and play equipment 12/6/2023 8:17 AM
175
