51 <br />With changes in demographics, technologies, and social and recreational <br />trends, Lake Elmo city staff and other decision makers will need to consider <br />how park and recreation facility and programming needs will be met as the <br />future unfolds. After all, park and recreation trends are ever-changing, can vary <br />by region or climate, and are often impacted by social influences. In order to <br />better adapt to future demands, city staff will need to be nimble and flexible in <br />response to the ever-changing needs and desires of the public. <br />This section of the report explores a handful of park and recreation-related <br />trends (listed in no particular order) and their potential implications for the <br />future of Lake Elmo’s parks and trail system. <br />0404 <br />TRENDS ANALYSISTRENDS ANALYSIS
