In addition to the general requirements pertaining to temporary signs, the following <br />standards pertain to portable signs: <br />a) Permit required. A sign permit shall be issued on an ammal basis before a stationary <br />portable sign may be erected. Such permit shall only be valid during the calendar year <br />during which it is issued. <br />b) Construction. A sign shall be manufactured to a professional standard of construction, <br />finish and graphics. A portable sign shall be freestanding, self -supported and constricted <br />of substantial materials such as wood, metal or plastic such that the sign will reasonably <br />withstand the elements. <br />c) Size and design regulations. <br />1. A portable sign shall not exceed six square feet in surface area per side, with a <br />maximum of two signable sides or faces. <br />2. The sign shall not exceed three feet measured at the widest point of the sign face. <br />3. Any portion of the sign's face used for a chalk or dry -erase board shall not exceed <br />50 percent of the total sign face surface area. <br />
