STAFF REPORT <br />DATE: 11/6/2024 <br /> CONSENT <br /> <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Marty Powers, Public Works Director <br /> Dustin Kalis, Fire Chief <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM: Sale of Excess and Retired Tools and Equipment <br />REVIEWED BY: Nicole Miller, City Administrator <br /> Clarissa Hadler, Finance Director <br />BACKGROUND: With the acquisition of new tools and equipment, excess equipment, other equipment <br />that has reached the end of its useful life, Public Works and the Fire Department has a surplus of assets <br />that are no longer operational or needed to conduct city services. <br /> <br />ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: Should the City Council authorize staff to publicly advertise and sell excess <br />and retired city equipment consistent with the City’s Purchasing Policy? <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT: Revenue generated by the sale of this equipment will be added to the Vehicle <br />Replacement Fund and/or the General Fund. Below is a list of surplus items and parcels and the anticipated <br />sale price. <br /> <br />2016 Chevrolet Tahoe $16,000 <br />3pt Snow Blower $500 <br />Extractor / Washer $500 <br />Hose Drying Rack (Wall Mounted) $500 <br />Poly Playground Boarders $390 <br />800 MHz Radios & Accessories $300 <br />Poly Water Tank $200 <br />Street Signpost Bases $150 <br />Mack Front Bumper $100 <br /> <br />OPTIONS: <br />• Approve sale of Excess and Retired Equipment <br />• Deny sale of Excess and Retired Equipment <br />• Discuss and amend the sale of Excess and Retired Equipment <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />“Motion to approve the sale of Excess and Retired Equipment as detailed in the City’s Purchasing <br />Policy”
