<br /> <br />Veneklasen Associates <br /> <br />New Lake Elmo Elementary School Noise Study; Lake Elmo, Minnesota <br />Property Noise Measurement Summary; Veneklasen Project No. 8512-002 <br />October 28, 2024; Page 3 of 9 <br /> <br />Month Day, Year; Page 3 of 9 <br /> <br /> <br />www.veneklasen.com <br /> <br />Veneklasen’s goal to conduct acoustic measurements over some of these July weekends to capture both “membership <br />only” days as well as weekends, which may have higher occupancy. <br /> <br />Veneklasen visited the site on Monday July 8, 2024 and set up four (4) noise monitors on the proposed project site to <br />capture gun club activity noise. Acoustic data was captured over two (2) separate weekends and several weekdays. <br />Per the code criteria, noise levels were evaluated by hour-long segments. Sounds not attributable to gun club activities <br />(e.g., documented weather events using the Weather Underground website) were omitted from the analysis. <br /> <br />Table 2 and Figure 1 below show a summary of the collected noise data attributable to gun club activities as well as an <br />aerial satellite image of the measurement locations. L1 was taken at the property line, L2 was taken at the nearest <br />location of proposed outdoor school activities, L3 is the approximate edge of the 750-foot mitigation area discussed in <br />the previous section, and L4 is the northwesternmost corner of the proposed school building. <br />Figure 1. Our <br />analysis of gun club activity noise has determined that often gun fire noise levels are equal to, or sometimes below, <br />the existing ambient noise levels, which are dictated by nearby traffic noise.
