This list is not intended to be all-inclusive but illustrates <br />staff responsibilities throughout Public Works. <br /> <br />Table 2: Public Works Department Core Services <br />Function Summary <br />Public Parks <br /> Maintenance of public works <br /> Street and sidewalk sweeping <br /> Maintenance of parks and trails <br /> Tree trimming <br /> Snow plowing and salting roads <br />Utilities <br /> Infrastructure planning, design, and maintenance <br /> Drinking water <br /> Sanitary sewer <br /> Stormwater systems <br /> Utility locates <br /> Hydrant/valve flushing and turning <br />Sewer <br /> Lift station and grinder pump maintenance and repair <br /> Line maintenance and repair <br /> Sewer inspections <br /> Sewer line locates <br /> <br />STAFFING <br />Authorized staffing in the Public Works Department grew from five to 11 FTEs between 2012 and 2023. In that <br />same time period, water customer accounts grew by 229%, and sewer accounts grew by 8,534%. The staffing levels <br />for the Department have remained at 11 FTEs since 2019, which was the most recent year a new Operator position <br />was added. The only other full-time addition since 2019 was that of the Assistant Director. <br />
