Washington County Library Summer Programs Begin <br />June 1 <br />Whether you're learning to read, love to read, or want to share your <br />love for reading with your child, Washington County's Summer at <br />Your Library has programs for all ages. <br />The Summer Adventure program, designed for children aged 0-11, <br />engages young people in reading, learning, listening, and <br />exploration. Level Up, a video-game themed program for kids aged <br />12-18, engages kids in active learning through reading, cooking, <br />crafting, and gaming. There are also programs for adults. <br />Learn more at your local Washington County Library branch or visit <br />www.washcolib.org . <br />Lake Elmo Night Out Informational Meeting <br />Lake Elmo Night Out, scheduled for August 5, 2025, will host an informational meeting for businesses and <br />organizations on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the Lake Elmo Library. <br />To learn more, email lakeelmonightout@outlook.com. <br />New Lions Club Forming <br />Join others interested in forming the new Lake Elmo Lions Club June 6 at 6:00 p.m. at the Lake Elmo <br />Community Center. Discover how Lions serve, lead, and create positive change, and how YOU can be a <br />part of it. <br />Free Finished Compost in May <br />During the month of May, Washington County residents can pick up <br />free finished compost at two locations. The finished compost is made <br />by mixing food scraps with yard waste at a commercial composting <br />facility. Compost is rich in nutrients and has many benefits, including <br />promoting healthier plant growth, improving soil health, and <br />preventing soil erosion. <br />Washington County Recycling <br />Washington County Learn to Paddle Program <br />Learn the basics of kayaking and gain confidence paddling on the <br />water with Washington County Parks Learn to Paddle program. <br />Beginners 10 and older can learn how to paddle a kayak with free <br />interactive instruction from Wild Rivers Conservancy. Kayak, life <br />jacket, paddle, and vehicle permit are provided. <br />Lake Elmo Park Reserve <br />Thursday, June 5, 10 a.m.-noon, registration required. <br />Thursday, June 5, 1-3 p.m., registration required. <br />Registration is limited to one session per person. <br />Learn to Paddle registration. <br />Watering Season and Irrigation <br />Lake Elmo City Watering Ordinance allows properties connected to <br />the city water system to irrigate twice a week, as indicated on the <br />city's irrigation zone map. Irrigation is restricted from 5:00 a.m. to <br />5:00 p.m. Hand watering is permitted at any time, and new sod <br />waivers are available if needed. <br />Using a smart irrigation controller device can further reduce your <br />water usage.
