1/6/2025 <br />Over the next 1-5 years the city will likely <br />continue to grow with population and <br />businesses. Our current calls for service have <br />been increasing by approximately 1000 each <br />year and I don't see that slowing down. I also <br />anticipate our calls for service involving persons <br />in crisis to continue to rise. There has been a <br />_ trend of increasing needs from public safety <br />• • and fire for persons in crisis. <br />• z��z <br />•2 <br />27 <br />The sheriff's office is starting a community <br />impact unit in January of 2025. This unit will <br />address issues such as quality of life <br />concerns and traffic issues. I hope to have <br />our Lake Elmo contract deputies work <br />closely with this unit to address these issues <br />in the city of Lake Elmo. <br />If we had more time deputies would have <br />the ability to attend more trainings which <br />could be beneficial to how they respond to, <br />investigate, and approach issues in the city. <br />They could also spend more time on specific <br />issues in the city when it comes to quality of <br />life or traffic related concerns. <br />2s <br />14 <br />
