This Operator position <br />plays a key role in completing essential tasks within the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />Interviews were conducted over the last few weeks by the Public Works Director, Assistant <br />Public Works Director, Lead Operator and an Operator 1. We are recommending Steven Yackel <br />as the preferred candidate to fill this necessary position. <br /> <br />ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: <br />Should the Council approve Steven Yackel to be hired as Public Works Operator III? <br /> <br />PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: <br />The recommendation is to hire Steven Yackel with pay rate at grade 3, step 9 with all other <br />benefits outlined in the Local 49 labor agreement. <br /> <br />Steven has a Class B CDL, with experience operating tandem dump trucks, paving and patching <br />asphalt, operating skid steers, completing snow removal, light equipment maintenance and <br />irrigation repairs <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />This position has been included in the 2025 budget. <br /> <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />If removed from the consent agenda:
