The contractor has completed the work in
accordance with the contract, plans, and specifications, including all punch list items.
ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: Should the City Council approve Change Order No. 2 for the Well No. 2
PFAS WTP project?
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: Magney Construction, Inc. has submitted Change Order No. 2 in
the amount of $4,503.34 for items found during construction but not included in the original contract
documents. The change order includes the furnishing and installation of a Hi-E Dry 195 dehumidification
unit to control condensation within the PFAS vessel room. The item is eligible for reimbursement from the
grant and necessary to complete the improvements. The itemization is included in the attachment and the
total amount requested is within the overall project budget and contingencies.
Additionally, the change order recommends changing the final completion date from July 18, 2025 to
August 21, 2025. Staff recommends the final completion date be adjusted as requested. The delay in
completing the work is due to the treatment vessels arriving to the site later than stated in the contract
documents due to reasons outside of the control of Magney Construction, Inc.
FISCAL IMPACT: This change order will increase the contract amount by $4,503.34 bringing the revised
construction contract to $1,368,928.56.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff is recommending that the City Council approve, as a part of the Consent
Agenda, Change Order No. 2 for the Well No. 2 PFAS WTP Project. If removed from the consent agenda,
the recommended motion for the action is as follows:
