From: Sophia Jensen <SJensen@lakeelmo.org> <br />Sent: Monday, February 27, 2023 7:57 AM <br />To: Nathan Fuerst <br />Cc: Jenni Faulkner <br />Subject: FW: Twin Home Development on 39th St. & Wildflower Drive <br /> <br />Public Comment - Landucci <br /> <br />From: Michelle Chickett <michelle.chickett@me.com> <br />Sent: Sunday, February 26, 2023 1:10 PM <br />To: Sophia Jensen <SJensen@lakeelmo.org> <br />Subject: Twin Home Development on 39th St. & Wildflower Drive <br /> <br />Caution: This email originated outside our organization; please use caution. <br /> <br />Ms. Jenson, <br /> <br />We are not sure that we will be able to attend the February 27 City Council meeting so I am <br />sending these comments on behalf of my sister Pamela Chickett, brother Michael Chickett and <br />myself who all reside at 11374 Blazingstar Ln in the Wildflower development. <br /> <br />Concerns/questions: <br />-sufficient infrastructure, especially water <br />-school crowding, Lake Elmo Elementary and others <br />-stability of rental property vs. home ownership (mobile vs. stable) <br />-possibility of short term rentals (Airbnb, VRBO and other) <br />-congestion of people and automobiles (completion of phase 4 of Wildflower, Arbor Glen, Lake <br />Elmo Elementary School, new fire station, pre-school/daycare, future volleyball venue, local <br />businesses and the Preserve and Legacy developments) <br />-proposed size of townhomes; will they all look alike or a variety of exteriors? <br />-parking: number of garages per unit (attached vs. detached) <br />-hard surface vs. pervious (parking lot?) <br />-professional management/on-site management? <br />-private amenities? <br /> <br />While we realize the importance of and welcome a variety of housing to meet a variety of needs, <br />we feel that we must remember why people want to live in Lake Elmo: most notably, a sense of <br />small town living, respect for nature/open space and a feeling of camaraderie. Although we <br />realize and respect that there are a variety of opinions pro and con development, we would hope <br />that any new development respects those values that attract people to Lake Elmo. <br /> <br />Thank you. <br /> <br /> <br />
