From:Todd Williams
To:Sophia Jensen
Subject:Solar Farm on 50th St
Date:Saturday, March 18, 2023 11:48:06 AM
You don't often get email from toddwilli@comcast.net. Learn why this is important
Caution: This email originated outside our organization; please use caution.
I wish to register my support for the solar farm proposed on 50th St, which the Council will consider
at its March 21 meeting.

The need for electrical power to enable our society’s quality of life will only increase with time. Every
level of government should be striving to reduce the overall carbon footprint created by people and
their power-generating activities within that government’s jurisdiction. Solar energy is an excellent
source of relatively carbon-free power, and it should be encouraged whenever feasible. The
proposed solar farm is an excellent example of the kinds of development Lake Elmo should welcome.

The concerns of neighbors to the proposed project should not be ignored. However, the solar farm
(when built) will be a quiet neighbor with very little traffic. Plus, the neighbors will know the project
is helping to fight climate change. The project proposers have worked with City staff and the
neighbors to manage the screening as well as can be expected.

I urge you to approve this solar farm project.

Sent from Mail for Windows
