The post bid total project costs remain below the Feasibility Report costs and include a <br />4% contingency for unforeseen costs incurred during construction. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff is recommending that the City Council approve a resolution accepting bids <br />and awarding a contract to Miller Excavating in the bid amount of $2,091,433.33 for the 2023 Street <br />Improvements. The recommended motion for this action is as follows: <br /> <br />“Move to approve Resolution No. 2023–038, accepting bids and awarding a construction contract to <br />Miller Excavating, Inc. in the amount of $2,091,433.33 for the 2023 Street Improvements.” <br /> <br />Staff is also recommending that the City Council authorize the City Administrator to enter into a material <br />testing contract for the project construction phase services for the project, in the not-to-exceed amount of <br />$30,000.
