STD premiums have decreased significantly due to MNPL and liability decreasing for use of the plan. The <br />new provider’s term covers leaves of 7-90 days. LTD coverage increased as previous coverage didn’t start <br />until after 180 days and will now start after 90 days. <br />The $25,000 Basic Life premium, which the City pays, will decrease slightly with the new provider. <br />Dental coverage premiums paid by the City increase slightly. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />Health Insurance rates increased just under 10% for 2026 . <br />Although some rates have increased, the budget will still see significant savings for ancillary benefits <br />switching to the new provider based on current provider rates and plan changes. <br />OPTIONS: <br />Approve the changes and contributions of the 2026 benefit offerings. <br />Not approve the changes and contributions of the 2026 benefit offerings. <br />RECOMMENDATION: (if pulled from Consent) <br />Motion to approve the 2026 benefit providers and employer contributions including Resolution 2025-xx <br />Approving Health Care Plan and Contribution Amounts to Employee Health Insurance Benefits for 2026 <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />2026 LE Benefits Rates <br />Resolution 2025-069 Approving Health Care Plan and Contribution Amounts to Employee <br />Health Insurance Benefits for 2026
