The Lieutenant and Engineer <br />rate will be updated again in July following the hiring of the career captain positions. <br />• Adjusted firefighter hourly pay rates. The rate adjustment aligns with the COLA increase of 3% of <br />other city staff. <br />• Eliminate the rank of POC Captain. With the addition of the career captain positions in the 2026 <br />budget, the POC Captain will be eliminated. Lieutenant will now be the highest promotable POC <br />position, three total, working under each Captain. <br />• Add the rank of Engineer: this position replaces the previous Engineer/EMT rate. This will allow <br />staff a pay incentive as they commit to the increased training and operational requirements of this <br />position. This will be a promotable position, three total, working under each captain and <br />lieutenant. <br />• Add the rank of Firefighter/FAO: this position replaces the previous Engineer/EMT rate.
