STAFF REPORT <br />DATE:November 18, 2025 <br />CONSENT <br />TO: Mayor and Councilmembers <br />FROM: Dustin Kalis, Fire Chief <br />ITEM: Donation to the Fire Department from Equity Lifestyle Properties and <br />Cimarron Park <br /> <br />CORE STRATEGIES: <br />☒ Vibrant, inclusive, connected community ☒ Efficient, reliable, innovative services <br />☒ Responsive, transparent, adaptive governance ☒ Balanced Finances now and future <br />☐ Managed Growth <br />BACKGROUND: <br />State statute requires that cities accept donations via resolution. <br />ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: <br />Should Council accept the donation of $500.00? <br />PROPOSAL: <br />Equity Lifestyle Properties and Cimarron Park presented the City with a donation of $500.00 for <br />the Lake Elmo Fire Department. The funds will be reinvested into the park; used to purchase <br />carbon monoxide alarms and/or smoke alarms for Cimarron Park residents. Included in your <br />packet for acceptance as part of the Consent Agenda is a resolution for the Council to officially <br />accept the donation. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />There is no impact to the 2025 budget as these funds were not anticipated. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1)Approve Resolution No 2025-075 <br />2)Amend and then Approve Resolution No 2025-075 <br />3)Do not accept the donation <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Motion to approve Resolution 2025-075 <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution 2025-075
