One was recently vacated, and the <br />other position had not been filled as the last interview process in 2024 did not produce any viable <br />candidates. Community Development Director, Jason Stopa, Building Official John Taylor and I, <br />Jennifer Doyle, Administrative Services Director, conducted interviews late in October and are <br />recommending Aurelio Cotroneo to fill one of the positions. <br />ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: <br />Should the Council approve Aurelio Cotroneo to be hired as the Building Inspector? <br />PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: <br />The recommendation is to hire Aurelio Cotroneo with the hire pay rate at grade 7, step 3. <br />Aurelio recently received his Building Official Limited certification and comes to us with a <br />construction and HVAC background with over 12 years of experience in those fields. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />This position has been included in the 2025 budget. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />If removed from the consent agenda: <br />“Motion to approve hiring Aurelio Cotroneo as Building Inspector with salary grade 7, step 3. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />None
