Washington County Requirements <br />Short -term rentals meet the definition of a hotel/motel, per State Statute 157 <br />•"Hotel or motel" means a building, structure, enclosure, or any part thereof used as, maintained as, <br />advertised as, or held out to be a place where sleeping accommodations are furnished to the public and <br />furnishing accommodations for periods of less than one week. <br />•Washington County is the licensing jurisdiction for food, pools, and lodging. <br />They require licenses for all short-term rentals (defined above), including Bed <br />& Breakfasts. <br />•The County performs inspections at all lodging establishments they license. <br />•The County notifies local fire inspectors during plan review of new lodging <br />establishments.
