Simply type your Taxable Market Value
(TMV) and see the results.
Your TMV can be found on the 2025 Valuation Statement you received this spring. You can also find it online at https://mn-
washington.publicaccessnow.com.
Be sure you're entering the Taxable Market Value after any homestead exclusions.
This tool does not include any city Special Assessments, which are charged directly to your property on a
separate line of your tax statement.
This spreadsheet is an admittedly over-simplified tool in a rather complex financial system. For instance, some
departments have revenues directly related to their work, such as Community Development. This tool assumes all
General Fund revenues, including Property Taxes, are spread evenly across city departments relative to their
expense budgets. The amounts shown per department are the taxes needed to support services after all other
revenues are accounted for. Debt Service Levies and Capital Levies are not true service areas and are funded
100% by property taxes.
The above service areas do not reflect expenses for utilities, as those are funded through utility fees instead of
taxes.
