Background <br />The Planning Commission discussed increasing mailing distances for rural residents and <br />adding public hearing notices as a push notification with the new website at the 2025 Joint <br />Workshop with Council. <br />Staff has also received feedback from residents requesting the notice be more accessible. <br />City Staff contacted the City Attorney for an opinion on the process change. The City Attorney <br />advised we maintain a consistent distance to avoid any potential oversight or conflict in the <br />future. <br />At this time, City Staff has expanded the content of the public hearing notice letter and <br />conducted research into the process of other cities.
