Ordinance Enforcement <br />▪City Council members/commissioners do not have any authority to enforce the <br />City’s ordinances. <br />▪If you encounter an ordinance violation, you should report it to the appropriate <br />City staff person. They will determine whether there has been a violation and <br />whether any enforcement action should be taken by the City. If enforcement <br />action is to be taken, they will ensure that it is taken. <br />▪If you take it upon yourself to try to enforce a City ordinance, you could subject the <br />City to liability if it is found that there is not a violation of the ordinance and the <br />violator suffers damages.
