Securing funding – Explore & secure additional funding sources, mechanisms and <br />partners. Identifying, applying for, and securing park and recreation funding via various <br />means, including grant writing. <br />Long-range strategic planning – Promoting Park improvements, expansion of the park <br />and recreation system and facilities. <br />Coordinating, developing and implementing a city trail network including greater <br />interconnectivity and year-round accessibility. <br />Environmental Stewardship – Managing sustainability initiatives, conservation efforts, <br />and urban forestry programs. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />There is no fiscal impact on the 2025 budget. If supported this would be an additional position in <br />2026. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Discuss the key level of service needs the city would like to full fill within the park system.
