St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital advances cures and means of prevention for <br />pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment; and consistent with the vision of St. <br />Jude’s founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion, or a family’s <br />ability to pay. St Jude specializes in care for some of the toughest pediatric cases, all while <br />investing in resources and technologies for cutting-edge scientific research and families never <br />receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food and a majority of funding for St. <br />Jude comes from generous donors. <br />The St. Jude Dream Home Showplace home is built by a local builder through community <br />support, donated labor and materials from local trade partners, vendors, and national sponsors; and <br />upon completion of construction, the Showplace home is sold and net proceeds from the sale of <br />the home will be donated to St. Jude. The total request to be waived is $21,462.79. <br />($24,332.79 Total - $2870 Outside Agencies = $21,462.79 City. The State Surcharge $385.00 and <br />SAC (METRO) $2,485 cannot be waived by the city as these are paid to outside agencies.) <br />ISSUE BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL: <br />Should the City waive the local building fees for 3767 Knightsbridge Ln N? <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />$21,462.79 in waived fees <br />OPTIONS: <br />•Approve fee waiver <br />•Deny fee waiver <br />•Approve partial fee waiver
