She draws on <br />her experience in local and regional planning to <br />connect with clients, helping them identify what <br />they need and how to accomplish it. She began <br />her planning career in 1998 and has extensive <br />experience with land use and transportation <br />planning, creative and inclusive engagement, and <br />supporting work in health assessment, scenario <br />planning and modeling, and implementation <br />planning. Known for thorough studies, it’s not <br />surprising Haila is fascinated with genealogical <br />research and has traced her family history back to <br />the 1600s. <br />Tammy Omdal <br />Managing Director <br />Northland Securities <br />Inc. <br />Tammy Omdal is a <br />Managing Director for <br />Northland Securities, joining <br />the firm in 2011. Tammy has worked in public <br />and private financial management for more than <br />30 years. She provides Northland clients with <br />extensive experience in economic and housing <br />development, debt issuance and management, <br />and financial planning. She advises clients on <br />new money and refunding transactions, tax <br />allocation bonds, limited obligation bonds, revenue <br />bonds, and special tax bonds. Tammy joined <br />Northland after a successful career working for <br />municipal governments, including Burnsville, MN, <br />Minneapolis, MN, and Dakota County, MN. She <br />served as Deputy City Manager and Chief Financial <br />Officer for Burnsville, Financial Services and <br />Budget Director for Minneapolis, and Accounting <br />Manager for Dakota County. Tammy has built <br />upon her background as a municipal issuer and <br />manager to provide client centered advice to <br />her clients. Tammy creatively uses economic <br />development finance tools and strategic capital <br />financing to achieve the objectives of her clients. <br />She has experience working on complex economic <br />development, housing, and redevelopment <br />projects, including financial evaluations of pro <br />forma, financing of projects, and application <br />of financial assistance tools or the securing <br />of special legislation to assist a project. She <br />communicates complex financial information <br />in an easy-to-understand manner to help inform <br />decision-making. Tammy received her bachelor’s <br />degree in business from the University of <br />Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, with <br />an emphasis in Finance. <br />Taylor Smrikarova <br />Real Estate Developer <br />TNS <br />Taylor’s work is focused on <br />the intersection of real estate <br />development, architecture, <br />urban-focused design and community orientation. <br />She believes that the development process itself <br />adds beauty in creating occupiable art. <br />Taylor worked in mixed-use development at <br />Redesign, Inc., The Excelsior Group, in both <br />commercial real estate and architecture at <br />THOR Companies, and office renovations at <br />RSP Architects. She also worked in residential <br />architecture at Nelson Architects (in Washington <br />D.C.), commercial mortgages at Capital One (in <br />Maryland), and assisted homeowners during the <br />Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) after <br />the 2008 crisis while at Dorner Law & Title Services <br />(in Boston, MA). <br />Taylor holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture <br />from Northeastern University and a Master of <br />Real Estate Development from the University of <br />Maryland. She currently holds several boards <br />seat including Board Member of Commonbond <br />Housing, Project Committee of Commonbond <br />Housing, City of Minneapolis Zoning Board of <br />Adjustments, Board Member of City of Lakes Land <br />Trust, Project Committee of City of Lakes Land <br />Trust, Board Member of Minnesota Chapter of the <br />Urban Land Institute.
