After council approved the <br />realignment of the Operator positions earlier this year, we were able to post the position with the new hiring <br />range. <br />Six interviews were conducted late February/early March with the hiring panel consisting of the Public Works <br />Director, Assistant Public Works Director and Administrative Services Director. The Assistant Public Works <br />Director and 2 Operators conducted second round interviews, including a driving test with two of the <br />candidates. The recommendation for hire is Twuane Sanders. <br />ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: <br />Should the Council approve Twuane Sanders to be hired as the Operator III? <br />PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: <br />Although he has no prior experience in a Public Works setting, Twuane has an AAS in Turf Management and <br />experience with managing athletic fields and facilities. He has experience with grounds equipment, HVAC <br />systems, ice rink maintenance, patch work and snow removal. <br />The recommendation is to hire Twuane Sanders as an Operator III at a grade level 4, step seven. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />This position is in the 2026 budget. <br />OPTIONS: <br />Approve the hiring of Twuane Sanders.
