Building Official(1 FTE) <br />Building Inspector(1 FTE) <br />Planning Assistant(1 FTE)Permit Technician(1 FTE) <br />Community Development Department <br />City of Lake Elmo <br />The Community Development Department is <br />committed to guiding thoughtful growth, <br />preserving our community’s rural character <br />and natural resources, and fostering vibrant <br />neighborhoods and businesses. We strive to <br />enhance quality of life, promote economic <br />vitality, and ensure sustainable development <br />for current and future generations. <br />Mission <br />What We Do <br />The Community Development Department serves as the community resource for residents, businesses, <br />and developers, providing planning and zoning, permitting, code enforcement, and economic <br />development. Various land use regulations and policies guide development in the city. The <br />Comprehensive Plan guides the city's long-range planning, and the Zoning Regulations Ordinance and <br />map control current development. <br />The department participates in several grants including The Washington County CDA, the Washington <br />County Recycling Grant, and the 3M Priority 2 Grant.
