What We Do <br />The Finance Department is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of <br />information related to the City’s financial operations. The department supports the City’s fiscal stability <br />and transparency through the following core functions: <br />Revenue Collection <br />The Department collects revenue from a variety of sources, including property tax, permit fees, and <br />utility user fees. Additional revenue streams include grants, service charges, interest earnings, and <br />intergovernmental transfers. <br />Disbursement of Funds <br />The Department processes payments to vendors for goods and services received. It also administers bi- <br />weekly payroll and employee benefit payments in a timely and accurate manner. <br />Financial Transaction Management <br />All financial transactions are recorded within the City’s financial system using a 12-digit general ledger <br />numbering structure.
