L A K E E L M O A N N U A L R E P O R T | 2 0 2 5 18 <br />Fire Department <br />City of Lake Elmo <br />2026 Priorities <br />Continue to build our community risk reduction <br />programing: Sound the Alarm smoke alarm <br />replacement, home inspection program, and <br />CPR training <br />Hire three career shift captains <br />Take delivery and in-service for Tender 2 <br />Firetruck and UTV 1 (utility terrain vehicle) <br />replacements <br />2025 Highlights <br />Crews responded to 1,281 calls for service, <br />including 474 fire incidents and 807 <br />medical incidents <br />Hosted the Fire Department Open House in <br />September, featuring car seat safety, smoke <br />alarm information, hands-only CPR, fire <br />extinguisher training, and station tours <br />Celebrated the retirement of Brian Johnson <br />after 32 years of service to Lake Elmo and <br />our department <br />Seven paid-on-call firefighters completed <br />academy training <br />Hired five probationary firefighters <br />Installed a new gear and equipment <br />decontamination machine as part of the <br />Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to help <br />reduce firefighter exposure to carcinogens <br />Hired Public Works/Fire Administrative <br />Assistant to support two growing city <br />departments <br />Began offering CPR instruction to local <br />businesses and residents <br />Supported city events, including 4th of July <br />Kids Parade, Lake Elmo Night Out, 100 Year <br />Anniversary Celebration, and Light Up Lake <br />Elmo <br />The 2025 Incident Heat Map is a great tool that <br />helps the fire department gauge the areas of the <br />city where incidents are most likely to happen. This <br />map shows all incident locations in our city and <br />their frequency. Red boundaries indicate a high <br />volume of incidents. Some emerging neighborhoods <br />are shown in yellow and orange.
