Background <br />Washington County is the lead Agency for delivering the TH 36 and <br />Lake Elmo Avenue (CSAH 17) interchange and South Frontage Road <br />Improvements, known as State Project 8204 -57 (“the Proje ct”). <br />01 <br />03 <br />The County received contractor bids on April 14, 2026 with Ames <br />Construction as the apparent low bidder. <br />04 <br />On December 16, 2025, the City Council approved Municipal Support, <br />inc luding a right -turn -only access from eastbound TH 36 to <br />southbound Keats Avenue. <br />05 <br />The Project includes the construction of a South Frontage Road from <br />Keats Ave to approximately 0.4 miles East of Lake Elmo Ave (CSAH 17). <br />02 <br />The County intends to award a construction contract at the May 19 <br />County Board meeting and is targeting a June 1 construction start date. <br />Prior to awarding a construction contract, MnDOT and the County <br />requires all Project Agreements to be approved and executed. <br />06
