STAFF REPORT <br />DATE: May 5, 2026 <br />CONSENT <br />TO: Mayor and Councilmembers <br />FROM: Dustin Kalis, Fire Chief <br />AGENDA ITEM: Donation to the Fire Department from Snowell Raleigh <br />CORE STRATEGIES: <br />☒ Vibrant, inclusive, connected community <br />☒ Responsive, transparent, adaptive governance <br />☐Managed Growth <br />☐ Efficient, reliable, innovative services <br />☒ Balanced Finances now and future <br />☐ Resilient Infrastructure <br />BACKGROUND: <br />State statute requires that cities accept donations via resolution. <br />ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: <br />Should Council accept the donation of $40.00? <br />PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: <br />Snowell Raleigh presented the City with a donation of $40.00 for the Lake Elmo Fire Department in memorial to <br />Bob Novak. Included in your packet for acceptance as part of the Consent Agenda is a resolution for the Council <br />to officially accept the donation. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />There is no impact to the 2026 budget as these funds were not anticipated. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1)Approve Resolution <br />2)Amend and then Approve Resolution <br />3)Do not accept the donation <br />RECOMMENDATION: (if pulled from Consent) <br />Motion to approve Resolution 2026-023 <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />•Resolution 2026-023
