2026 Lake Elmo Roadwork and Construction Updates <br />Minnesota's Other Season - <br />Road Construction <br />Welcome to Minnesota’s other season—road <br />construction 🚧 <br />As roadwork ramps up across the <br />community, we’ll keep you informed on <br />projects, timelines, and any impacts <br />throughout the summer. Stay tuned for <br />updates to help you plan ahead and travel <br />safely! <br />Road Projects: <br />Intersection of Trunk Highway 36 and Lake Elmo <br />Avenue (County State Aid Highway 17) located <br />in the Cities of Grant and Lake Elmo will begin <br />construction this month, clearing trees around <br />the highway.   A preconstruction open house is <br />set for May, and highway construction begins <br />in June. This project will be ongoing through <br />the fall of 2027. Visit Washington County's Road <br />update here. <br />CSAH 14 - Stillwater Blvd <br />Closure <br />CSAH 14 (Stillwater Boulevard) Update: The City <br />of Lake Elmo has retained Miller Excavating to <br />replace an existing section of water main that <br />is failing along Stillwater Boulevard (CSAH 14). <br />The work will require the closure of westbound <br />traffic from 39th Street to Lake Elmo Avenue <br />(west of the elementary school).  <br />Stillwater Boulevard will be eastbound traffic <br />only. All access points to side streets (Lake <br />Elmo Avenue, Laverne Avenue, and Layton <br />Avenue) will be open to turn onto off Stillwater <br />Boulevard. All residential and commercial <br />driveways that access to Stillwater Boulevard <br />will be open during construction and <br />accessible if traveling eastbound on Stillwater <br />Boulevard. The work is expected to take <br />approximately 2 months to complete (weather <br />dependent). <br />Island Trail Road Closure <br />Begins Wednesday, May 6 <br />Island Trail will be closed between Eagle <br />Point Boulevard and 5th Street North <br />beginning May 6, 2026, to allow for roadway <br />and utility work related to the Inwood <br />Townhomes development.
