Part of the wall art plan for the City Center <br />includes a wall for display of public art. The public art program will allow local artists the opportunity to share their work <br />publicly, while beautifying City facilities. <br />ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: <br />Should the City Council approve the Public Art Policy? <br />PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: <br />The identified wall for the public art display is on the second floor of the City Center. <br />The attached policy includes: <br />Purpose and Intent of the public art policy <br />Definition and guidelines for public art <br />Process and selection <br />Required information for public art applications <br />Duties and responsibilities-City staff and Artist <br />Criteria for review <br />Removal of public art <br />Exemptions to art procured or located at city owned buildings <br />Staff will work on a communications plan to roll out the program to the community for displaying art. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />None
