RESOLUTION NO. 2008-048 <br />CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONSERVATION EASEMENT GRANTED BY <br />THE CITY OF LAKE ELMO TO THE MINNESOTA LAND TRUST <br />WHEREAS, Sunfish Lake Park is a 315 acre park with natural, scenic and open <br />space qualities of significant importance; and <br />WHEREAS, the park provides important habitat for a variety of wildlife species, <br />both terrestrial and aquatic, in conservation need; and <br />WHEREAS, the park is a component of a regionally significant corridor and project <br />focus area as identified by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the <br />Metropolitan Conservation. Corridors Partnership; and <br />WHEREAS, the property provides important publicly accessible open space to <br />learn about, experience, and enjoy the out -of -doors in a significant and relatively <br />undisturbed natural setting: <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Lake Elmo <br />hereby approves the conveyance of a conservation easement for Sunfish Lake Park to the <br />Minnesota Land Trust. <br />ADOPTED, by the Lake Elmo City Council this 21'` day of October, 20 <br />Dean Johnston, Mayo <br />ATTEST: <br />,-w <br />Susan Hoyt, City Administrator <br />In Favor: Against: <br />
