CITE' OF LAKE ELMO <br />Washington County, Minnesota <br />RESOLUTION NO 2009-033 <br />WHEREAS, many families support their military service members who are serving in the <br />United States and overseas to protect the values and freedom enjoyed by citizens of the <br />United States of America; and <br />WHEREAS, the Yellow Ribbon Network of Washington County has been formed to connect local <br />military family members with residents and organizations such as cities, townships, schools, <br />churches, community groups, businesses, and government agencies that can provide <br />assistance and support in various forms to family members including spouses and children; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Yellow Ribbon Network of Washington County will build on the existing strengths <br />of organizations already providing support of service personnel and their families by adding <br />to the community support and awareness for helping spouses and children in ways to lessen <br />their burden while a family member is deployed to protect our country; and <br />WHEREAS, the Yellow Ribbon Network of Washington County encourages communities and <br />residents to work together to support the active duty troops and their families, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo <br />acknowledges with grateful appreciation, respect, and admiration, the sacrifices of military <br />personnel who are leaving home and their loved ones to serve our nation; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council fully supports the efforts of the Yellow Ribbon <br />Network of Washington County to support family members of service personnel during <br />deployments to defend the democratic values of the United States of America. <br />Adopted the City Council this 21 st day of July, 2009. <br />Dean A.
