CITY OF LADE ELMO <br />RESOLU'T'ION NO. 2012-046 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2012-062 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo has adopted Ordinance No. 2012- <br />062, an ordinance to update Chapter 154 Zoning Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the ordinance is lengthy; and <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and <br />summary in. the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or neaps; and. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the following summary would clearly inform <br />the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo, <br />that the City Administrator shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 2012-062 to be <br />published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: <br />Public Notice <br />'The City Council of the City of Lake Elmo has adopted Ordinance No. 2012-0652, which represents <br />a major revision to the Zoning Code, adding new districts that will allow for future sewered <br />development in accordance with the City's Comprehensive Plan. The adopted changes include new <br />residential and commercial zoning districts that include the following provisions: <br />• A general statement of the purpose for each new district. <br />• A list of uses that are allowed in each district. <br />• The development requirements, including the minimum building setbacks, lot dimensional <br />requirements, lot coverage, and other district standards. <br />• Requirements for accessory uses and structures in these districts. <br />Ordinance 2012-062 also includes language to support the new zoning districts, including a revised <br />set of introductory provisions and a new use classification system to define all of the uses referenced <br />in the Code. <br />The amendments adopted by the City Council represent the first in a series of changes that will <br />result in a complete overhaul of the current Zoning Ordinance. <br />The full text of Ordinance No. 2012-062 is available for inspection at Lake Elmo city hall during <br />regular business .hours. <br />
