CITY OF LADE ELMO RESOLU'T'ION NO. 2012-046 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 2012-062 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo has adopted Ordinance No. 2012- 062, an ordinance to update Chapter 154 Zoning Code; and WHEREAS, the ordinance is lengthy; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in. the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or neaps; and. WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo, that the City Administrator shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 2012-062 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: Public Notice 'The City Council of the City of Lake Elmo has adopted Ordinance No. 2012-0652, which represents a major revision to the Zoning Code, adding new districts that will allow for future sewered development in accordance with the City's Comprehensive Plan. The adopted changes include new residential and commercial zoning districts that include the following provisions: • A general statement of the purpose for each new district. • A list of uses that are allowed in each district. • The development requirements, including the minimum building setbacks, lot dimensional requirements, lot coverage, and other district standards. • Requirements for accessory uses and structures in these districts. Ordinance 2012-062 also includes language to support the new zoning districts, including a revised set of introductory provisions and a new use classification system to define all of the uses referenced in the Code. The amendments adopted by the City Council represent the first in a series of changes that will result in a complete overhaul of the current Zoning Ordinance.
