a <br />WHEREAS, Public officials are agents of public purpose and hold their positions <br />for the benefit of the public; and <br />WHEREAS, They are bound to uphold the Constitution of the United States and <br />the Constitution of the State of Minnesota and to carry out impartially the laws of the <br />Nation, state and municipality and thus to foster respect for all government; and <br />WHEREAS, They are bound to observe in their official acts the highest standards <br />of morality and to discharge faithfully the duties of their particular position regardless of <br />personal considerations, recognizing that the public interest must be their primary <br />concern. Their conduct in both their official and private affairs should be above <br />reproach; and <br />WHEREAS, Public Officials shall adhere to adopted rules of conduct. In <br />recognition of these goals, this policy is established to guide all officials of the City of <br />Lake Elmo, whether elected or appointed, paid or unpaid, including members of boards, <br />committees, commissions, and volunteers of the city. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, The City of Lake Elmo City Council <br />hereby adopts the Code of Ethics and Conduct Policy for Elected Officials and Appointed <br />Board and Commission Members. <br />ADOPTED BY THE LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL ON THE SIXTEENTH DAY <br />OF OCTOBER 2012. <br />(Seal) <br />Sandie Thone, City Clerk <br />Resolution 2012-52 <br />
