.,, <br />WHEREAS, a resolution of the city council adopted on July 16, 2013, fixed a date for a <br />hearing for the Section 34 Water and Sewer Utility Extension Improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, mailed notice and two weeks published notice of the hearing was given, <br />and the hearing was held thereon on September 3, 2013, at which all persons desiring to be heard <br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon; and <br />WHEREAS, the feasibility report, prepared under the direction of the City Engineer, and <br />dated July 2013, states that the project is necessary, cost-effective, and is technically and <br />financially feasible; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Section 34 Water and Sewer <br />Utility Extension Improvements, bids were received, opened, and tabulated according to law, and <br />bids were received complying with the advertisement; and <br />WHEREAS, bids were tabulated, checked and summarized to verify that all <br />requirements of the submittals were met; and <br />WHEREAS, the project engineer reviewed the bids and has provided a letter <br />recommending the award of the contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Redstone Construction <br />Co., Inc. in the amount of $1,701,884.50. <br />10 '°M I i 1:111"I'MYRNMI <br />, <br />1. Such improvement is deemed necessary, cost-effective, and feasible as detailed in the <br />Feasibility Report. <br />2. Such improvement is hereby ordered as proposed in the Council resolution adopted the <br />16th day of July, 2013. <br />3. The City Engineer is hereby designated as the engineer for this improvement, and <br />together with his consultants, shall oversee the design and construction of such <br />improvements in accordance with the approved Plans and Specifications prepared by <br />Bolton and Menk, Inc. and dated July, 2013, <br />4. The City Council declares its official intent to reimburse itself for the costs of the <br />improvement from the proceeds of tax exempt bonds. <br />Resolution. No. 2013.72 1 <br />
