LAKE O CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 8 2012 <br />Council Member Pearson attended a Library Board Meeting where discussion was had on the new <br />Lake Elmo Library and a "soft opening" to coincide with Lake Elmo Days on September 7, 2012. <br />Mayor Johnston attended the Gateway Corridor Study where discussion was had confirming the <br />two Park and Rides locations will be in Woodbury. <br />City Administrator Zuleger reported that he, along with Deputy Loperfido and several Lake Elmo <br />Firefighters, visited four National Night Out neighborhoods; Family Means Program in Cimarron <br />has 30-40 teens attending and crime incidents have decreased; interviewed eight Building Official <br />applicants; Red Zone continues to be effective, utilizing two speed trailers on Lake Elmo Avenue; <br />working on Lake Elmo Days and possible Lynx guest; sold 1.985 city pickup at public auction. Dean <br />also thanked Nick and Kyle for their hard work and meetings with the Planning Commissioners and <br />developers addressing density and screening concerns. <br />City Attorney Snyder reported that Judge Eckstrom'heard. the Detachment Hearing and a report will <br />be issued in 90 days. He thanked City Engineer Griffin and Planning Director KIatt for their hard <br />work related to the Whistling Valley development. <br />City Engineer Griffin held a 2012 Street Improvement reconstruction meeting; notices will be <br />mailed to affected residents this week; two remaining items to be addressed at the Whistling Valley <br />development. <br />Planning Director Klatt reported. that they are moving forward with the Comprehensive Plan <br />amendments and I-94 Corridor; scheduled Public Hearing on August 13,, 2012, at 7:00 pm; holding <br />design standards for the Old Village area, preferred land use plan, densities, and work group <br />meetings; Summit Board Shop submitted plans to expand their snowboarding demonstration area. <br />Finance Director Bendel reminded Council about the August 16, 2012 Budget Workshop. <br />ADJOURN- The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m. <br />Sandie Thone, City Clerk <br />LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL <br />w. r <br />Dean A.
