iii. Allowable height of a ground sign shall be as set forth in Table 5-3. <br />iv. No ground sign shall be taller than the principal building on the premises to which <br />it pertains. <br />f. Landscaping. Perennial plantings, grass or other landscaping features shall be <br />incorporated around the base of all ground signs. <br />g. Exempt or Special Purpose Ground Signs. The location of and maximum height and <br />surface area of any other exempt or special-purpose ground sign expressly authorized <br />by another section of this ordinance, shall be as set forth in such other section. <br />Table 5-3 Ground Signs <br />Table 5-3 describes the zoning districts in which ground signs may be displayed, and the <br />maximum height and area of the signs, as determined by the speed limit on the adjacent <br />roadway. Location: All window signs must be located inside an exterior window unless the sign is <br />weatherproof and does not pose a danger from falling or being blown by the wind. <br />Lettering or graphic elements that are directly mounted on a window shall not <br />encroach upon the frame, mullions, or other supporting features of the glass. <br />b. Permanent Signs. When a sign is painted on or otherwise attached or applied to the <br />window area in a permanent manner, then such sign shall be included in the total <br />allowable wall sign area for the building and shall not exceed twenty (20) percent of <br />16
