STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF WASHINGTON <br />CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />ORDINANCE NO. 80-87 <br />OR ORDINANCE RELATING TO STORM SHELTERS IN MANUFACTURED HOME PARKS. <br />Lake Elmo City Council ordains that Section 302.180 and its <br />subdivisions are hereby added to the City Code to read as follows: <br />302.180 Storm Shelters. Manufactured Home Park Owners shall adopt <br />regulations relating to the use and maintenance of storm shelters. <br />A copy of the regulations or any amendments thereto shall be kept <br />on file with the Lake Elmo City Administrator, the Lake Elmo Civil <br />Defense Director, the Fire Chief of the Lake Elmo Volunteer Fire <br />Department, and the Washington County Sheriff's Department. The <br />regulations shall address the following minimum concerns: <br />A. Maintenance of Shelters. The regulations shall include <br />a routine maintenance schedule in order to control <br />vandalism and maintain the shelters in a sanitary and <br />safe manner. During the storm season, shelters shall be <br />checked at least once during each business day by a <br />representative of the Manufactured Home Park Owners. As <br />used herein, storm season means the period between April <br />1st and September 15th of each year. <br />B. Shelter Access Map. An access map illustrating the most <br />convenient route from an individual manufactured home to <br />a designated storm shelter shall be disseminated in the <br />following manner: <br />1. A copy shall be delivered to each Manufactured Home <br />Owner within the Park. <br />2. A copy shall be included with the Park "move -in" <br />information packets for each new tenant. <br />3. Copies shall be posted on any Manufactured Home <br />Park community bulletin board. <br />4. A copy shall be posted in the club house of the <br />golf facility at the Manufactured Home Park. <br />5. A copy shall be available at the Manufactured Home <br />Park office. <br />C. Storm Shelter Drills. Storm shelter drills shall be <br />Conducted at a reasonable time in the spring of each year <br />prior to the storm season.
