Village of gaffe `�Imu <br />'if aolftgtnn ($onntg <br />October 59 1961 <br />Minutes of the village council meeting October 4, 1961. <br />Present: Mayor Louis Urtel, Trustees- Roy Dornfeld,Lloyd Ebne, <br />and Robert Dennis and Clerk Donald Mehsikomer. <br />Meeting called to order at 7:30PM by Mayor Urtel. <br />Minutes of the September 5ths meeting Lead and approved. <br />Fire Chief Al Henning reported that White Truck had a broken <br />axel. The pumper had blown a head gasket also. Chief Henning <br />also advised that the pumper was in need of tires. Authoriza- <br />tion was given to have four tires recapped. <br />Committee reports: Recreation, Roy dornfeld reparted that Ben <br />Lohmann has been hired to paint the bleachers. <br />A letter was received from the Lake Elmo VFW turning over the <br />playground equipment to the village. Motion by Roy Dornfeld <br />second by Robert Dennis that the equipment be accepted. Motion <br />carried 4- 0. <br />Roy Dornfeld to check on getting the boards installed at the <br />hockey rink. <br />i Streets, Lloyd Ebne to approach Carl Olinger regarding snow- <br />plowing in the village this coming winter. <br />Lloyd Ebne to contact Northern States Power regarding moving <br />the light on Rose street closer to John Heimels on Rose St. <br />Clerk requested to write letter to the Highway department <br />regarding the possibility of a turning lane on Highway 12 <br />and Lake Elmo Road in the East bound lane of traffic. <br />Any repair work on the streets was tabled until after the <br />water had been installed since this would-be covered when the <br />mains are in and the streets reconditioned. <br />Re9:isxxam11xWxty:FxsMotion by Robert Dennis second by Roy Dor- <br />nfeld that Third Street fromKalmia to Lake Elmo Road be a <br />one way street going West on Sundays and on speoial occasions. <br />Lloyd Ebne to get a sign "One Way -Do Not Enter". Carried 4-0. <br />Police and Safety: Fire department answered three calls this <br />month. 1 Herb Krongaard, 201arenee Pierre, 3Abresch Barrel Co. <br />Ice Cream truck broken into at Elmo Specialties. <br />
