Village of Lake ,lmo <br />Minutes of Council Meeting August 7, 1962 <br />Present:Urtel,Carlson, Dornfeld,Ebne, and Mehsikomer. <br />Meeting called to order at 7:15P.M. <br />Minutes of the July 12 meeting read and approved. After adding the <br />reair of the hydrant in front of Heuars by putting in a 1ft. exten- <br />sion the minutes of the July 30th meeting were approved. <br />Clerk advised that $190.401,11 was received from sale of the Village <br />Water Improvement Bonds. Since this amount was not needed for immed- <br />iate use Gov't tax certificates were purchased. $30,000 to mature <br />in 30 days;•$40,000 to .mature in 60 days ; and $60,000 to mature in <br />90 days and finally $15,000 to mature July 1963. The village would <br />realize $19176.78 as a result of this purchase. <br />Committee Reports, Recreation -Basketball standards are up. Clerk <br />instructed to write letter to Lake Elmo Lions Club extending thanks <br />for their egntributt&n to the village playgroung. <br />Streets- Still waiting the completion,of digging so that the streets <br />can be put into proper condition. <br />Police and Safety: Roy Dornfeld was appointed to represent the village <br />on the three man fire board. Roy would arrange to meet with Mr. Muel- <br />ler on a new contract. <br />Trustee Dornfeld reported that Mr. Henry Fals had considered and <br />would accept the position of Water Inspector if it were offered. <br />'t After considerable discussion it was agreed that the Council would <br />take bids on water meters rather than to contract individually. <br />Motion by R. Dornfeld second by L.Ebne to adopt a Plumbing Ordinance <br />(NO 29),copy attached with the addition that the inspector fee be <br />$3.00. Carried 4-0. Clerk to contact Rod Lawson regarding the <br />necessary paperwork -to enforce this ordinance. <br />Motion by R.Dornfeld second by R. Carlson that water meters be <br />leased to the property owners with ownership retained by the village. <br />Carried 4-0. <br />Motion by R. Carlson second by L. Ebne that we take bids on water <br />meters. Carried 4-0. Meeting has been scheduled for Wed. Aug..29,1962. <br />at 7:30PM. <br />Henry Ellman requested information on whether he could annex to the <br />village and if he could tie into the village water system. Mr. H. <br />Ellman was going to have the property surveyed and check into annex- <br />ation. <br />Motion by Roy Dornfeld second byLloyd Ebne that the Village resch- <br />edule date of election to coincide with the State Election. 4-0. <br />Gene Lindholm advised that the water hydrant on Sixth and Lake Elmo <br />Road was 3 feet on the private property. It was recommended that <br />the owner(Sohmidt Brewery) be contacted and an easement obtained <br />so that this would not create a problem at some later date. <br />
