COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 29 1968 <br />Meeting called to order at 7;15PM. <br />Clerk issued the oath of office to Calvin Brockman as Mayor, to Lester <br />Goerss As Trustee} to Robert Bruce Abercrombie as Trustee and to Roger <br />Meyer as Treasurer. <br />Minutes of the December 5, 1967 meeting read and approved. <br />D.W.Elliott of Banister Engineering reviewed the work done by the. rail- <br />way and proposed a letter whcih he recommended that we send. This letter <br />was passed along to Rod Lawson and he was to make necessary changes and <br />send it ti the clerk for submittal to the railroadā€˛ <br />The request for village action on the drainage of water from the J.Dur- <br />and, Harvey Allen and Robert Novak was discussed with the engineers and <br />it was suggested that we wait until this spring as not much can be done <br />with the ground frozen and no water standing idle. <br />Trustee Lester Goerss was appointed to contact the county engineer re- <br />garding a more prompt removal of snow off of Washington County 17, more <br />commonly known as Lake -Elmo Road. Particularly snow from along the road <br />piled up by the early passes of the regular snowplows. <br />Clerk to write Rod Lawson to check into toe annexation of Norm Wendt, <br />Vince Anderson, Frank Tokay and the Ellman property. Reports are that <br />this area is still not on the village tax rolls but rather on East Oak- <br />dale and they were supposed to have been annexed some time ago. <br />.Clerk to check to determine how much water was used by Ray Cina and by <br />( Northwest Bituminous during 1967 and to, issue a bill for water used. <br />The following assignments were made for the year 1968. <br />Streets;Ebne, Abercrombie and Goerss. <br />Recreation;Goerss, Ebne and Abercrombie. <br />Fire and Safety;Abercrombie,Goerss and Ebne. <br />Health;Brookman, Mehsikomer and Dr. Van Meier with his approval.(Les <br />Goerss was to personally contact the Dr. regarding using him again. <br />Legal; Rod Lawson of the firm of Thoreen, Thoreen and Lawson. Mr. Lloyd <br />Shervheim(spelling) would be agreeable to help in any way that he could <br />in that he is a resident of Lake Elmo, Minnesota, <br />Engineering; Banister Engineering of St. Paul <br />Bank; State Bank of Fake Elmo. <br />Building Inspector; George Seigfreid( Mr. Ebne would check availability). <br />Gas Inspector; Roy Dornfeld <br />Village paper; either the weekly, or the daily Stillwater Gazette. <br />Plumbing Inspector; Henry Pfalz <br />Insurance; Lake Elmo Insurance Agency. <br />Actin Mayor; Lloyd Ebne. <br />Weed Inspector; Calvin Brockman with assistant Roy Lohmann. <br />Labor rate ; 8 1.75 per hour. <br />Custodian Salary; 8 125.00/ month. <br />Motion by Trustee Abercrombie second by Trustee Ebne that the above <br />appointments be approved. Carried 5-0. <br />
