'fiffage of Eakt '�Imv <br />WkIolrington TvA niu <br />`'Rake 'Flinn, Ahmesuta 55042 <br />Minutes of the Fake Elmo Village Council December 4, 1968. <br />Meeting called to order at 7.20PIA by Mayor Brockman. <br />:P.resent:Brookman,Abercrombie,Ebne and Mehsikomer. <br />Also present were Treasurer Roger Meyer, Attorney Don Raleigh& R. Lohmann. <br />` Willard Eder, agreed to accept the position of the Constable that he won <br />on a write in ballot at the recent election. <br />Max Ahlgren asked the council if any change had been made in the Ordinance <br />covering the nine o'clock curfew in the village. Ile was informed that no <br />change had bean made and that the Ordinance was still in effect. <br />Trustee Abercrombie was appointed to contact Lee Richert regarding the <br />possibility of handling all the water problems for the village. This <br />would include digging mains, fixing freeze-u'ps, and any similar problems. <br />Don Raleigh was asked to supply a copy of the fire contract with East <br />Oakdale so that it could be mailed to the State Insurance agency. Until <br />this copy is received the Tire Department will not receive the full in- <br />surance rebate that they are entitled to. <br />Lois Knopf, Ci-gil Defense Director for the /Villa.ge submitted a letter <br />of resignation which was reluctantly approved. <br />The Leitte Building has been approved as an air raid shelter. <br />Clerk instructed to write a letter of appreciation to I47rs, Knopf. <br />Roger Meyer was asked to consult with the fire chief and determine if he <br />was agreeable -to accepting the position. of Civil Defense Director. <br />Motion by Trustee Abercrombie 2nd by Trustee Ebne that the council approve <br />the appointment of James Bjorkman as the new lire Chief. Carried 3/0/ <br />Motion by Trustee Abercrombie 2nd by Trustee Ebne that William Park be <br />appointed the assessor for the Village of Lake Elmo. <br />Motion by Trustee Abercrombie 2nd by Clerk Mehsikomer that Lloyd Ebne <br />be appointed to fill out the unexpired term of Lester Goerss as Trustee <br />Motion carried 2/0. <br />Clerk instructed to write letter to Rod Lawson requesting that Don <br />Raleigh be appointed to handle the legal business for the village. <br />The following bills were submitted for approval: <br />Village Ylater fire <br />Village of Lake �lmo 819.19 <br />Robert B Abercrombie 120.00 <br />Roger .Meyer 100.00 <br />Calvin Brookman 180.00 <br />Alfred Haseley 263.00 <br />Willard Eder 263.00 <br />Lloyd Ebne 120.00 <br />(-' Donald Mehsikomer 344.19 287.64 <br />Meyer Mercantile 5.35 33.27 <br />P.
